A Diversified Business Group Built On Trust
In early 2022, few bankers sat together to float a new business company. After few brains storming sessions, SAMAN International Limited was formed in May 2022. A team of varied age group of late thirties, fifties and sixties respectable citizens of Bangladesh decided to be together and started the journey developing VISION, MISSION & VALUES.
A proper office premises was taken in a commercial building close to Gulshan Business Hub. The team started to understand each other and as time passed by, bonding, trust and other elements required for team work was in place.
Finally, as on today we are now a company of 9 different concerns with a mother company named SAMAN International Limited.

Born into a defense family and educated at defense institutions, including Jhenidah Cadet College, I began my career in the Bangladesh Army, where I developed strong discipline, integrity, and leadership.
I later spent 20 years in corporate banking, starting with American Express Bank, where I was recognized eight times as a High Performer, earned consecutive Top Salesperson awards, and received four Global Grand Achiever honors. Following the bank’s global exit from Bangladesh, I held leadership roles at Mercantile Bank, Dhaka Bank, Mutual Trust Bank, and Jamuna Bank.
My key achievements include leading the Core Banking System Transformation Project at Mutual Trust Bank as Project Director and successfully steering the CBS Go-Live at Jamuna Bank. Over 14 years in private commercial banking, I worked closely with senior management and boards of directors, gaining broad leadership and strategic management experience.

Azam Khan has joined SAMAN Group as Chief Operating Officer (COO) with effect from March 1, 2025. Before joining with SAMAN he was serving with Mutual Trust Bank PLC from 2016 including the position of Head of Communications and Member of Management Committee (MANCOM), the Sustainable Finance Committee (SFC), Executive Risk Management Committee (ERMC), and the General Secretary of MTB Club.
SAMAN Group is doing business of Lubricants, Agro & Food, Work Terminal (Co-Working Space), e-commerce, properties and communications.
Azam Khan has started his professional career as Assistant Publication Officer with Voluntary Health Services Society (VHSS) in 1988. Later he joined Caritas Bangladesh as Public Relations Officer in 1993. He also served with Standard Bank PLC as Public Relations Officer, Dutch Bangla Bank PLC as Public Relations Officer, Dhaka Bank PLC as Head of PR Office, First Security Islami Bank PLC as Head of Marketing & Development and Head of Public Relations.
Azam Khan completed his Post Graduation from the Department of International Relations of University of Dhaka in 1988.
